This interactive 2-hour session is suitable for both managers and employees and will help you to:- 

  • Understand the links between pressure, stress, performance and health
  • Measure personal resilience (using a questionnaire providing scores on 8 dimensions of resilience)
  • Identify actions you, as an employer, can take to build employee and team resilience
  • Identify how you can help your employees to build their personal resilience

This one-hour webinar is suitable for anyone with an interest, and will give an overview of how to save energy and reduce fuel bills, enabling you to save money and also save the planet.

This two-hour interactive session aims to raise awareness of the impact of Long COVID in the workplace, and to improve knowledge and understanding of best practice in managing employees with Long COVID. The session is aimed at managers and HR staff.

This interactive 2-hour session is suitable for both managers and employees. We will discuss how to look after our mental health and wellbeing at work in a constantly changing world. In a constantly changing world, where new risks can arise unexpectedly, employers need to keep people safe at work by undertaking effective risk assessments.

This 1-hour session aims to: 
• outline the key requirements of risk assessments and the terms used
• describe the five steps to risk assessments
• explain how to identify hazards and evaluate risks, including COVID-19
• signpost to sources of further advice, guidance and support

 

Keep Active at Work: Combating Sedentary Behaviour

This fun and interactive session, for anyone with an interest, looks at how our work environments and settings contribute to sedentary behaviour, and will discuss some easy to implement solutions for being more active during our work days. Delegates will also get the opportunity to try out some simple keep fit and stretching activities. 

 

Towards a Healthier Workplace: Reducing Gambling Harm

This 90-minute interactive session aims to raise awareness of the impact of gambling harm in the workplace. We will also share examples of best practice in supporting employees and reducing gambling harm in the workplace. The session is suitable for managers and HR staff.

In this hour-long session, Cancer Research UK will encourage people to make choices that could reduce their risk of cancer and increase their chances of detecting it early. It will also cover which cancer screening programmes are available. At the end there will be time for questions and answers.

Sleep is essential for our physical health and immune system, as well as for our emotional and mental wellbeing. Working from home, money worries and health concerns have all added to make this an unsettling and stressful time for many. Supporting Mental Health: Breathing Space

COVID 19 has had a huge impact on mental health. Sometimes people’s thoughts and feelings overwhelm them to the point where it becomes difficult to cope with everyday life. It’s important that workplaces know what support is available. 

NHS 24 provides a suite of mental health services, including Breathing Space. At this webinar you will find out about their latest campaign ‘You Matter, We Care – for better mental health in Scotland’ and also resources including ‘The Little Book of Caring Ways’. This webinar lasts approximately 45 minutes and is aimed at anyone with an interest.

Line Managers - Managing Alcohol & Drugs in the Workplace Online Training

The Glasgow Healthy Working Lives Team is pleased to be able to offer this free online training course from Alcohol Focus Scotland.  The course has a maximum of 12 places available, offered on a first-come, first served basis.  In order to gain maximum benefit from it, you should book only if you have line management responsibility.  We would ask you to commit to attending if you secure a place, and if you are no longer able to, let us know as far in advance as possible so we can offer the place to another delegate.

Training aimed at providing participants with an introduction to the impact alcohol and drugs have on Scottish society and specific guidance on how to address alcohol and drug related issues in the workplace.
